Microsoft E3: 4 New Halo Games Announced
To close what was a relatively impressive press conference with a bang, Microsoft announced the existence of Halo 4, the first of three brand new stories for the Master Chief only available on Xbox 360. We caught the first trailer, and it showed the Chief awakening from cryostasis (he was put in there at the climax of Halo 3) to find that his ship was being pulled into a vessel of the ancient Forerunners. It wasn't in-game footage, but the announcement preempted a huge round of applause. Best of all, that wasn't the only Halo reveal, with a high-definition remake of Halo: Combat Evolved called Halo Combat Evolved: Anniversary Edition announced for release later this year, featuring the full campaign, local and online co-op, and maps from both the first and second games, all to celebrate the franchise's tenth anniversary this year. Halo Combat Evolved: Anniversary Edition will release on November 15th, and Halo 4 is set for release in Winter 2012.
