The Sarah Jane Adventures Returns This October
The official Doctor Who Magazine has revealed in its latest issue that the final six episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures will air in October. The show's fifth season was midway through production with three two-part stories filmed at the time of Elisabeth Sladen's tragic passing in April, and since then the status of the recorded adventures and the children's programme as a whole have been uncertain. While we now know that SJA will not return for a sixth season, it has been confirmed that Sky, The Curse of Clyde and The Man Who Wasn't There will air on BBC One and CBBC this Autumn, the first two written by Phil Ford and the latter by Gareth Roberts. Brian Minchin, a producer of the Who spin-off, revealed we can expect to see "a new arrival that will change Sarah-Jane's life forever, the mystery of the Man Who Never Was, powerful and even heartbreaking stories for Clyde and Rani, the return of a certain mysterious parrot and his pet Shopkeeper. And Tommy Knight will be back in a fully-fledged adventure." All of this will feature in the three stories, with the uncompleted The Sarah Jane Adventures Series Five airing this October- a fine tribute to Elisabeth Sladen's memory.
