2011 Games To Watch #9: Forza Motorsport 4

With three previous entries under its belt, what new stuff has developer Turn 10 studios got to offer with Forza Motorsport 4, an Xbox 360 exclusive racer due out this Winter? Turns out quite a lot- Kinect support is already confirmed, adding game-play modes where you can walk around your supercar and analyse its specs pre-race, then take it for a spin on the track as acceleration and braking are handled automatically so that you can just steer with your arms to control the vehicle. Although Kinect Joy Ride didn't exactly offer many positives on the sensitivity front, Turn 10 are renowned for their superb refinement of each Forza title, and we'd be surprised if things were any different this time around. If, however, you didn't surrender to the £130 price tag standing between you and Microsoft's snazzy new camera peripheral for the 360, then worry not as FM4 will still contain the sublime, Gran Turismo-topping controller-based game-play you know and love, combined with even better graphics and soundtrack than before to form the ultimate driving experience for gamers. Sure, the lack of plot might be something which holds Forza Motorsport 4 back as it did its predecessors, but more than likely given that storylines in the racing genre serve as more of a distraction than a strength, this omission could prove that Turn 10 can still create the best racing series on the market right now. There'll be value for your £40 and then some when Forza Motorsport 4 releases in Winter 2011!
