Sonic: Generations 3DS Announced

As if Sonic's 25th anniversary game weren't exciting enough a prospect already for Xbox 360 and PS3 owners, Sonic: Generations has now been confirmed for release on the Nintendo 3DS too this November. Because of the technology of the handheld console, the gameplay will only take place in the 2D side-scrolling perspective, but the movements and powers of the classic and modern incarnations of the hedgehogs will add variety to the experience. Nintendo fans needn't worry that they're getting the short end of the straw, though, because exclusive stages from the franchise's extensive past will feature in their version. Already confirmed to appear are the Green Hill Zone and Casino Night Zone, but since the former is known to form part of all versions of the game I would expect that E3 will hold plenty of revelations next week. Sonic: Generations releases on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the 3DS this November.
