Who: A Good Man Goes To War Preview

Amy, Rory and River SongThis week is the big one- the mid season finale, A Good Man Goes To War. This week, we find out why Amy's newborn child is so important to the evil forces of the universe, how the child came to be, what happens if the Doctor is let loose at war and gets really angry, and who River Song really is. In honour of the occassion, this preview is going to be handled slightly differently- let's look at the locations we'll visit in Episode Seven of Doctor Who:
VICTORIAN LONDON- Glimpsed briefly in the trailers for this half, it seems likely the Hooded Monks who seem to have time travel capabilities will come here for recruitment. Weren't there once Cybermen in Victorian London...?
ASTEROIDS- Specifically one asteroid called Demon's Run, this is where a momentous battle for time and space featuring Cybermen, Silurians and Sontarans will take place, forcing the Doctor to "call in long-held debts and solemnly given promises" to recruit an army that can rescue Amy but ultimately forcing him to go to war for the first time since the Time War!
BARS- The sneaky blue-faced Dorium who gave River a Vortex Manipulator last year in The Pandorica Opens returns here, and having seen him give the Hooded Monks a Judoon's brain in order to "imprison a child" in the prequel (below) in what looked to be a bar we can probably expect the Doctor to meet him in the same location.
STORMCAGE- This should definitely ring a bell: River Song is imprisoned here (yet seems to get out strikingly often) for a crime we do not yet know, but odds are we'll find out the nature of the crime this week as we're promised the reveal of who River is! In the trailer (below) we see what looks to be a much younger River, so was she recently put in prison, and why is she talking to the TARDIS crew about the baby's cot?
SPACESHIP INTERIORS- All we know about the huge cliffhanger to keep us guessing until Doctor Who returns in the Autumn ("We end on a revelation so huge, viewers will need the whole Summer to digest it!" says Karen Gillan)  is that it takes place inside a spaceship- that could be the TARDIS, or another ship. What we do know about the events that end the episode from Steven Moffat: "You will gasp as the true nature of the Doctor and Amy's relationship is revealed, and scream in horror as Rory stumbles onto the brink of a tragic mistake. And when the final twist- well, the second one- comes, you'll realise you've known about it all along..."
A Good Man Goes To War airs this Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
