See the news surrounding the continuation of the Tomb Raider reboot before it's even out...
Crystal Dynamics have their work cut out pleasing fans with the much anticipated Tomb Raider reboot. Nevertheless, the developers seem quite confident about their new project, since they've already started bringing us details on where the post-release DLC (which will be a timed Xbox 360 exclusive) will head in terms of the universe's new storyline. The Raider brand's director Karl Stewart had this to say of the upcoming online content: "We had the opportunity [at E3] to say we're doing something unique and something more. As I said, it's a timed piece of content. It's still early in the process for us, we haven't fleshed out the full stories and what we're going to do. What we're saying is you will be able to play the game from start to finish, and the DLC will not feel like it's a chunk of the game taken out. It will be unique to what's happening after the story." So it appears the new single-player missions will take place after the game's main campaign- what does this mean for the narrative, then? Will Lara still be trapped on the mysterious island of the main plot, only having made her first steps of getting off with more crew members? Or perhaps we'll even get a new playable character? Whatever turns out to be the case, it should be exciting to see how the devs choose to bridge their two currently announced entries in this rebooted franchise! Tomb Raider climbs into stores on 360, PC and PS3 on March 5th, 2013.
