UK Film Charts: July 9th-15th

Ice Age debuts proper, and tops the charts as it does so!
The fourth Ice Age movie, Continental Drift, was always guaranteed to be a success with young audiences in the middle of the Summer Of Film, something spurred on by the strong previews it had a couple of weeks back. Now, it has returned in full to cinemas nationwide, and in doing so has come back to the top of the charts, taking that honour away from last week's crowned victor The Amazing Spider-Man. Does it deserve its reclaimed fame? I would say no, but then again my opinion is hardly going to shift the love that kids have for this consistent animated franchise. All the same, The Dark Knight Rises is here on Friday, and thus I wouldn't anticipate the charts' throne staying the same by any means come next week unless the Batman finale is a major universal flop! Here's this week's listings:
10. SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNSTMAN (TF: 2/5)
9. KATY PERRY: PART OF ME (TF: 3/5)
8. PROMETHEUS (3/5)
7. MEN IN BLACK III (4/5)
6. THE FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT (TF: 3/5)
5. COCKTAIL (NEW)
4. SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD (NEW, TF: 3/5)
3. MAGIC MIKE (NEW, TF: 4/5)
2. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (4.5/5)
1. ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT (3/5)
