Assassin's News: Novel, Liberation Details Revealed

Get the first scoop on the new Assassin's Creed novel and the PSVita title!
With more and more Assassin's Creed-related news starting to crop up in the run-up to ACIII's release this October, unless things start to get quieter we'll be running this 'Assassin's News' column to keep you posted with groups of the latest news updates. For now, we've got new details on a brand new Creed book heading to retail shortly after the game's release and on the PSVita tie-in spin-off title...
  • FORSAKEN LEGEND: It has been announced today that fantasy author Oliver Bowden will pen a new Assassin's Creed novel for release this Autumn. Titled Assassin's Creed: Forsaken, the story will focus on the life of Assassin Connor (ACIII's hero), essentially retelling the events of the upcoming video game from the point of view of its main character. Previous adaptations of Assassin's Creed, II, Brotherhood and Revelations have been fun if a bit predictable, so anyone looking for more details on the series lore should make this port of call. Assassin's Creed: Forsaken arrives in good book retailers everywhere on November 8th.
  • LIBERATING THE ANIMUS: Also, there's been an interesting news update on PSVita spin-off Assassin's Creed III: Liberation. The game will focus on a female Assassin also operating in the American Revolution, but this time the fictional storyline will be that Abstergo Industries are selling copies of their Animus machines to the wider public in order to verse them in the horrors of the Assassin's Creed. Whether this means we'll get more of the Templars' perspective on their ongoing war remains to be seen, but all the same it should be an interesting prequel to whatever events wrap up Desmond Miles' storyline this Winter. Liberation ships on October 31st.
