Often when a big flagship entertainment event comes around, the rest of the industry seems to suffer for no apparent reason. That was the case with E3, and it seems to be happening once again with ComicCon. On the plus side, the event's arrival means that there will be plenty of news on big upcoming releases from the various panels. Here's everything you can expect to see in the next seven days...
COMIC CON- Everyone's favourite multi-format entertainment Summer event is here for one week only. What does it mean for you, dear readers? It means, news from the following exhibitors, studios and developers on these projects: the Avengers film universe; the Marvel Now! reboot; The Hobbit; The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 2; Tekken X Street Fighter; Man Of Steel; Oz: The Great And Powerful; Assassin's Creed III; The Expendables 2; Star Wars novels; Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron; Futurama; Lost Planet 3; DMC Devil May Cry; Halo 4; Being Human; Mass Effect; Iron Man 3 and of course Doctor Who Series Seven. (Thursday 12th-Friday 15th)
ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT- Although it's currently been running around UK cinemas a couple of weeks early, Continental Drift will finally make its worldwide debut this week. Reviews so far have been mixed, but from what we've heard, it sounds as if this hilarious fourth outing is right up fans' streets for those loyal to the franchise! (Friday 13th)
SINBAD- This brilliant fantasy drama continues on Sky1 this week as Sinbad travels on a brand new exciting adventure on the high seas! It's a 12-week series, and though I won't cover it on these weekly features unless there's a big episode coming, right now in a quiet period it's well worth your time. (Sunday 15th)
AND THERE'S MORE- 21 Jump Street and the first season of Starlings arrive on DVD this week, and The Ricky Gervais Show and Rules Of Engagement both return for more hilarious fun over on E4 on Tuesday.
ON THE BLOG- We'll be bringing you as much ComicCon info coverage as digitally possible in the final few days of the week, with plenty of new reveals on the biggest shows, films and games. On top of that, expect reviews of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Attack The Block and the first episode of Sinbad, and plenty more besides!
AND NEXT WEEK...Our Most Anticipated Film Of 2012, The Dark Knight Rises, makes its colossal landing in cinemas worldwide, plus Kingdom Hearts debuts on the Nintendo 3DS!
