Don't feel left out by ComicCon- we've got our own content to come!
Many Doctor Who fans were left a little sore in the mouth over the weekend as Stateside ComicCon attendees had the chance to see two brand new exclusive clips from Series Seven. UK brand manager Edward Russell has confirmed that the official site will not show these clips until much nearer the series' broadcast, but he's let slip something which might just make up for that. When asked about the possibility of seeing those clips, here's how Ed replied: "Nope. Something much more exciting on its way for UK audiences..." This seems to imply that we'll get a new trailer for the show's next run very soon, and when I replied to ask whether we'd be seeing said exclusive quite soon, he replied "You'll have to wait and see..."! I won't read into this too much, but don't be surprised if we see something definite crop up within the next week or so, as Mr Russell probably wouldn't tease it otherwise. In other news, ComicCon also saw the confirmation that Chris Chibnall's second episode of Series Seven will be called Cubed, which gives us the following line-up for the season so far:
ASYLUM OF THE DALEKS- STEVEN MOFFAT
DINOSAURS ON A SPACESHIP- CHRIS CHIBNALL
A TOWN CALLED MERCY- TOBY WHITHOUSE
CUBED- CHRIS CHIBNALL
EPISODE 5 (PONDS FINALE)- STEVEN MOFFAT
EPISODE 6 (JENNA CHRISTMAS INTRO)- STEVEN MOFFAT
EPISODE 7- STEVEN MOFFAT
EPISODE 8- TBC
EPISODE 9- MARK GATISS
EPISODE 10- TBC
EPISODE 11- NEIL CROSS
EPISODE 12- MARK GATISS
EPISODE 13- TBC
SERIES SEVEN FINALE- STEVEN MOFFAT
The official Who magazine reckon it will still be around a month until we get a confirmed airdate, so while we'll all definitely hold out hope for the August 25th airdate, there is a slight chance we might have to wait a little bit longer until September 1st. For now, I'll class Who as commencing in August, though. Doctor Who returns this Autumn on BBC1.
