Do we have a title for 'X-Men 2'?
For fear of falling into copyright issues and general challenges of understanding, there'll be no way that the follow-up to X-Men: First Class will simply be called X-Men 2. What title lies ahead for us when the sequel does finally arrive, then? The rumours correlate on this one central, overarching name- X-Men: Days Of Future Past. This similarly structured title layout would make sense given that these new entries in the film franchise are essentially prequels to the main trilogy, and as such with X-Men 4 still early in planning stages there's no point including numbers to confuse the audience. There's more than meets the eye here, though. Days Of Future Past was a classic comic-book storyline that focused on an alternate reality caused by an unpredictable attack on humankind from Magneto and his Brotherhood leading to all-out nuclear war. The original narrative also featured Wolverine to a large extent too, although the odds of that happening are pretty slim despite Hugh Jackman's cameo in the original spin-off as the actor is currently working on The Wolverine. This idea of alternate realities may seem a bit far-fetched for the superhero series, but considering we've had dark Phoenix spirits present before, perhaps nothing of that sort will be too unrealistic for the series. X-Men: First Class' follow-up will land in June 2014.
