With the release of the first Merlin Series Five trailer earlier this week, it's starting to look like the amount of news surrounding the new series coming out will increase drastically soon. As such, we'll now have a dedicated Merlin News post roundup to cover all of the big surprises and twists in the tale up until the series' launch, at which point you'll get day-one reviews for each of the thirteen episodes straight after broadcast! Today's piece of news regards Kate McGrath's friend-turned-foe Morgana Pendragon, who spent most of the last season cackling in an old hut about her plans to overthrow Camelot, only to be left near-death and resurrected by the young dragon Aithusa as the series' cliffhanger. So what next for Morgana? Here are the first details straight from McGrath's mouth...
- MORGANA'S AIMS IN SERIES FIVE: "It's about revenge. It's her personal crusade to get back at the people who have done this to her, and I think she thinks Arthur is behind a lot of that. If you thought she was bad before...she's badder!"
- MORGANA'S POSITION IN SERIES FIVE: "For Morgana's story, the most important time you don't see, is the time off [there's a three-year gap between Series Four and Five]. You discover that she has spent quite a large time of those three years imprisoned, so Morgana's worst fear about what would happen if people discovered her powers has come true."
