DC Comics' other greatest hero returns to the big screen next Summer!
There's still a fair old wait until we see Man Of Steel in cinemas. Nevertheless, DC Entertainment are all too happy to tease us until release day, as shown by their release of a superb first poster for the film via their ComicCon panel. The advertisement depicts the chestplate of the Superman costume along with a shadowy version of his head and shoulders behind it, seemingly done in order to show the darker and more grounded tone that the film appears to be taking in its approach. Man Of Steel's storyline follows Clark Kent as he discovers his powers, only for them to be tested to their very limits as he grows of age when a rogue force of enemy Kryptonians prepare an invasion of Earth. Fans have said judging by the trailer they saw at the DC panel that this is like Smallville meets The Dark Knight, and we'll know for sure when the trailer goes live after its debut in front of American showings of The Dark Knight Rises next weekend. I won't post up the leaked low-resolution versions of the trailer, but sufficed to say that this new and ambitious superhero film is looking very promising so far, a great way to pass the time until the Justice League movie for sure. Zack Snyder confirmed that this is essentially testing the waters for the team-up, so here's hoping it get the success it needs and deserves! Man Of Steel flies into cinemas on June 14th, 2013.
