Batman triumphs again for his second week here!
The Brit Film Charts were always going to be changed quite significantly by The Dark Knight Rises' release in cinema- this second week of its dominance stands as proof to that. To be fair, The Lorax, Searching For A Sugar Man and Carry On Jatta have debuted at solid positions too, but it seems as the fastest-selling film of the year so far, Batman's final adventure will stay strong in the charts for some time to come. Will it top Avengers Assemble? That seems unlikely, but at least it's having a better time of it than the pretty strong The Amazing Spider-Man (4.5/5), which is doing well but clearly not so amazing when old favourites like The Pirates! are able to make a return. Here's the chart rankings for the past week:
10. MEN IN BLACK III (4/5)
9. CARRY ON JATTA (NEW)
8. THE PIRATES! IN AN ADVENTURE WITH SCIENTISTS (3/5)
7. SEARCHING FOR A SUGAR MAN (NEW)
6. THE FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT (TF: 2/5)
5. MAGIC MIKE (TF: 4/5)
4. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (4.5/5)
3. ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT (3/5)
2. DR SEUSS' THE LORAX (NEW, TF: 2/5)
1. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (5/5)
