The World Will Watch as a new director enters the Games!
Francis Lawrence will direct the sequel to this year's hit fantasy movie The Hunger Games, Lionsgate have confirmed. Famed for his work on countless music videos and recent flicks like I Am Legend and Water For Elephants, Lawrence will shoot The Hunger Games: Catching Fire later this year so that lead star Jennifer Lawrence can get on with the sequel to X-Men: First Class straight after in early 2013. It's a busy old time for both the director and the actress, and in terms of distinguishing the pair of them, that they share the same surname certainly isn't going to help! The movie is set to depict Katniss' rise into the role of a rebel leader and ultimately the symbolic hero the Mockingjay, as well as the darker consequences of hers and Petta's survival of the titular Games. Get ready for shocks, thrills and cheers galore is all I can say, and if you want to find out more then you should really get around to reading the trilogy of novels by Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will debut in cinemas on November 16th, 2013.
