UK Film Charts: May 7th-13th

There's no stopping the Avengers!
I think it's safe to say that no-one saw this standout success that Avengers Assemble is having both critically and commercially right now. The average score is ranging at around 80% (one of the most consistently impressive for superhero films), but more excitingly still in the course of just twenty two days it has become the sixth best-selling movie of all time. That leaves it with The Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King; Transformers: Dark Of The Moon; Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows: Part 2; Titanic and Avatar to contend with, and so of course this is where things get serious. If Assemble can indeed reach the Top 3 or (*heaven forbid*) the top spot itself, then it will undoubtedly usher in a new era of popularity and success that the superhero movie genre rightly deserves. Here's this week's British charts:
10. THE HUNGER GAMES (4.5/5)
9. HOW I SPENT MY SUMMER VACATION (TF: 3/5)
8. PIRAHNA 3DD (NEW, TF: 2/5)
7. SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN (TF: 3/5)
6. SAFE (TF: 3/5)
5. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 3D (4.5/5)

3. DARK SHADOWS (NEW, REVIEW COMING SOON!)
