UK Film Charts: April 30th-May 6th

The Avengers continue to smash records everywhere!
If there's been one major surprise for the film industry in the first half of 2012, it's mst certainly Avengers Assemble, Marvel's epic superhero ensemble flick which has been doing the rounds brilliantly across the world. Over in America, the movie just earned another $100 million at the box office, meaning its worldwide earnings are over $1 billion, placing it above even 2008's The Dark Knight as the eleventh best-selling film of all time. That it's managed in 19 days what Nolan's superhero thriller took three months and a 2009 re-release to achieve is impressive to say the least, and that the ticket sales show no signs of stopping bodes well in terms of its upcoming battle to trounce the likes of Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland and the classic Disney animation Snow White & The Seven Dwarves in the next few weeks. I wish it the best of luck...congrats to Joss Whedon and his marvelous team, here's the week's Brit box office list:
10. MIRROR MIRROR (TF: 2/5)
9. SILENT HOUSE (NEW, TF: 3/5)
8. THE PIRATES! IN AN ADVENTURE WITH SCIENTISTS (3/5)
