The master detective returns next year for new cases!
Mark Gatiss has today confirmed the name of the Arthur Conan-Doyle Sherlock Holmes story he and Steven Moffat will be adapting for the season opener of Sherlock's next run. Apparently, it'll be The Adventure Of The Empty House that forms the first episode of Series Three- in the original fiction, this was the first story chronologically to take place after The Final Problem where Sherlock supposedly died. The difference here is of course that we know Sherlock survived his fall, so this should provide an interesting dynamic in terms of his return onto the scene into a new case. Sherlock will shoot its third season of three ninety-minute episodes early next year for transmission in Autumn 2013.
