"Game on, man, GAME ON!" Two classic moments from the franchise's history are brought to life on next-gen platforms.
SEGA and Creative Assembly have today announced two bonus downloadable levels which their fans will receive access to in their upcoming science-fiction first-person-shooter video game Alien: Isolation should they pre-order it ahead of its release. Set a decade or so after the events of the classic 1979 Ridley Scott movie Alien, Isolation's narrative depicts the ongoing struggle of Ellen Ripley's daughter Amanda to uncover the truth of her mother's disappearance on the USCSS Nostromo and the recent emergence of a human-hunting Xenomorph creature bent on conquering entire galaxies.

However, the aforementioned DLC's storyline will not take place in the same temporal context; instead, it'll serve as a worthy recreation of two iconic moments from Scott's original blockbuster. Here's a round-up of what fans can expect to experience in the pair of homage-themed missions later this year if they head online and pre-order this increasingly potent multi-generation survival horror:
  • CREW EXPENDABLE - Packaged in with each and every pre-ordered copy of Isolation, this fateful mission opens just moments after Alien's most memorable setpiece, namely the sequence in which John Hurt's character finds his chest penetrated by a Xenomorph youngling. Thankfully, Hurt's chest has well and truly burst open by the time we take control of Ellen (that's right, it's Sigourney Weaver's beloved protagonist that we'll play as here!), leaving players to work with the Nostromo teams in a seemingly futile attempt to escape the titular extraterrestrial menace's clutches. Good luck...
  • LAST SURVIVOR - The latter of Isolation's pre-order DLC missions will only be available at still-to-be-confirmed select retailers, but as and when we know which retailers fill that criterion, you'll be the first to hear the necessary details here at On-Screen. "Last Survivor" replicates Alien's last setpiece as Ellen races against time to launch an escape pod and leave behind the Nostromo forever. In other words, if players began to think that the game's main campaign was tense, then to coin an aged phrase, "you ain't seen nothing yet"!
Alien: Isolation is available to pre-order now at all good video game retailers ahead of its October 7th release on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC.
