Every now and then, the extent of news updates on upcoming TV shows such as Doctor Who or Marvel and DC's annual output becomes so hectic that a compilation article such as the one you now hold in your hands (metaphorically speaking) is necessitated. It's the turn of the latter studio to take centre-stage today as fresh new info has emerged on Fox's detective drama Gotham and The CW's interlinked superhero programmes The Flash and Arrow.
From TV spots to episode titles, from returning cast members to actorial débuts, it's all here, and trust us when we say that any true fan of all things Detective Comics won't want to skip a single word of this piece!
- NEW GOTHAM TV SPOT RELEASED - Titled "The Good, the Evil and the Beginning", our latest glimpse at Fox's much-anticipated Batman prequel series depicts its opening moments, namely Detective James Gordon's approach towards the corpses of (spoilers for anyone who's never seen a Batman film or read a comic-book!) Thomas and Martha Wayne. All the while, he's watched by Selina Kyle, Oswald Cobblepot (pictured above) and Edward Nigma - talk about a coincidental union, eh? Gotham will première on Fox this September 23rd, with a UK broadcaster still to be confirmed.
- ARROW SEASON THREE EPISODE 2 TITLE & RETURNING GUEST STAR ANNOUNCED - These two news-bytes are pretty much interwoven, and as such, we've paired them together at this juncture. Green Arrow TV have today revealed that the second episode of Arrow's third season possesses the title "Sara", whilst TV Line have announced that Caity Lotz will reprise her role as Sara Lance in the season's opening episode, "The Calm" (and presumably in Episode 2 as well, short of the title representing a curious deception). Arrow returns to The CW for its explosive third season on October 8th and will launch once again on Sky1 this Autumn.
- THE FLASH EPISODE 3 TITLE ANNOUNCED - In addition to revealing the name of Arrow Episode 2, Green Arrow TV have confirmed that The Flash's third episode will go by the name "Things You Can't Outrun". It'll reportedly feature Robbie Amell (cousin to Arrow's Stephen)'s first appearance as Ronnie Raymond (aka Firestorm), though this has yet to be officially announced by The CW, so don't hold your breath for too long - instead, we'd recommend you invest in a sizeable helping of salt! The Flash premières on The CW with "Pilot" this October 7th.
Keep it On-Screen in the days ahead as we build towards the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con and the plethora of DC-related announcements that await us (and you, of course!) at the annual event.
