Director Zack Snyder has today released a new promotional image for Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming superhero crossover film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill as its respective titular justice-upholding protagonists, Dawn is a spiritual successor to the 2013 reboot Man of Steel which continues to broaden the DC Cinematic Universe with new characters and storyline developments.
In case you missed it (and we wouldn't blame you, since we chose not to post it due to the sheer lack of new info that could be gleaned), Snyder's new design for the iconic cape and cowl traditionally worn by the Dark Knight was revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con's Preview Night yesterday and can be seen below this text. The picture above is what has got us truly ecstatic to see more of Dawn, though, as it's our first colourised glimpse of Affleck's incarnation (who, judging by his current brooding expression, won't mark too much of a deviation from the version established in Christopher Nolan's acclaimed Dark Knight trilogy) in all of his menacing glory. Could it be that this sly marketing reveal is in fact a subtle prelude to a major announcement or six from Warner Bros. this weekend regarding the character's immediate future? Only time (and DC Entertainment) will tell...
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice collides with UK cinemas nationwide on April 29th, 2016.
