Director Colin Trevorrow has today released a digital image of the first promotional poster for Universal Pictures' upcoming fantasy blockbuster Jurassic World. A continuation of the cult Jurassic Park franchise of big-screen adventures, its narrative picks up over two decades after we left Isla Nublar and its neighbouring isles (Islas?) with Guardians of the Galaxy's Chris Pratt and Spider-Man 3's Bryce Dallas Howard leading the charge as everyone's favourite prehistoric beasts reawaken and threaten the sanctity of everyone in their vicinity...again!
Don't take that as a pessimistic comment on World's potential from us, though: there's undoubtedly a pleasurable air of nostalgia demonstrated by the concept art-themed teaser poster (which will be made available to San Diego Comic-Con attendees later this week), even if it's about as laden with plot details as the recent Doctor Who Season Eight promotional trails. Evidently the titular antagonists once again mean business, so all that remains is to see whether Trevorrow (for better or for worse, this is essentially his first major cinematic project) does too. If not, it's Game Over, man, Game Over! Apologies, wrong franchise...again!
Not even an incoming meteor will prevent Jurassic World from stampeding into cinemas worldwide on June 12th, 2015.
