BBC Books have today released the cover art for their three upcoming Doctor Who New Series Adventures novels featuring the Twelfth Doctor. This newly-regenerated incarnation of the immortal Time Lord who gives the programme its name is played by Peter Capaldi and will receive his full on-screen unveiling next month in the feature-length opening episode of Season Eight, "Deep Breath" (a 75-minute instalment which also stars Jenna Coleman, Neve McIntosh, Catrin Stewart and Dan Starkey).
Full synopses for the three paperback sci-fi texts - titled Doctor Who: The Blood Cell, Doctor Who: The Crawling Terror and Doctor Who: Silhouette - can be found here. Whilst the cover image of Capaldi's incarnation on Silhouette is all too clearly taken from previous promotional material, the shots of the ever-brooding character which adorn The Blood Cell and The Crawling Terror's covers are seemingly fresh and as such will no doubt be replicated and discussed across the interwebs sooner than you can say, "I've got new kidneys!". For all the latest news on Doctor Who Season Eight and tie-in products scheduled to release at the same time as the new series, keep it On-Screen in the days ahead...
Doctor Who: The Blood Cell (written by James Goss), Doctor Who: The Crawling Terror (Mike Tucker) and Doctor Who: Silhouette (Justin Richards) will each be released in all good UK book retailers this September 9th at a RRP of £5.89.
