Warner Bros. Pictures have this week announced the central shooting location for their upcoming fantasy blockbuster Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Acting as both a prequel to and a spin-off from the beloved core Harry Potter film series, the movie's screenplay will be penned by J.K. Rowling (better known to the world at large as the writer of the seven original Potter novels, which in themselves spawned what can rightly be branded as a global phenomenon).
Perhaps this was always going to be something of a foregone conclusion, but that doesn't dampen the appeal of the studio's confirmation that Fantastic Beasts will be filmed in the UK at Leavesden Studios. Fans of the Potter flicks who are concerned about the future of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour - The Making of Harry Potter attraction which is currently based at Leavesden needn't fear, though, since the studios are due to undergo a hefty expansion this year that will enable productions such as Tarzan (another Warner Bros. project, set to star Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson) to shoot without interfering with Making (or the wealth of ticket sales it continues to garner for Warner Bros. on a daily basis). Keep it On-Screen as we discover more details on this long-awaited prequel adventure's production schedule, cast ensemble and narrative in the coming weeks!
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them takes flight in cinemas worldwide on November 18th, 2016.
