Warner Brothers Pictures have this week released the first trailer for their upcoming science-fiction film Interstellar. Written and directed by The Dark Knight and Inception's Christopher Nolan, the movie depicts the consequences of a wormhole opening above the planet Earth in its present day state.
Teaser trailers can tow the line between an enigmatic and spoilerish tone, or often end up falling into just one of the two categories- in this case, Interstellar's debut (below) is fiendishly elusive. Aside from reiterating the admittedly obvious space-bound nature of the flick (although it will likely be less so than Gravity), the trail offers nothing in the way of concrete plot details nor the film's cast beyond its lead star Matthew McConaughey, who's backed by Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Matt Damon and other big names despite his status as a relative newcomer to the scene. Now's far too early to call Interstellar one of the potential big hitters of 2014, but with Nolan at the helm, we should at least be expecting promising things from this project.
Interstellar touches down in Earthly cinemas on November 7th, 2014.
