Konami have today announced the official worldwide release date of their upcoming third-person shooter video game Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. A prelude chapter to the studio's grand fully-fledged sequel Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, this retail and downloadable instalment will tease some of the major elements of the final product.
As it stands, 2014's release schedule is currently pretty ambiguous. The first quarter of the year will feature Konami's latest, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, The LEGO Movie Videogame and South Park: The Stick of Truth, but beyond that? Watch Dogs and LEGO The Hobbit are both confirmed for Spring launches, and Destiny for September 9th, yet we scarcely know much more about what to expect and when to expect it at this point. The situation will ideally change next month, though it has to be said that there were plenty more promising projects on the horizon for 2013 at this time last year...
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will retail on Xbox One, Xbox 360 (with both Microsoft consoles boasting an exclusive extra mission that features Raiden as a playable character), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC on March 18th, 2014.
