Angry Birds Star Wars Next-Gen Retail Release Announced

As if Angry Birds hadn't reached enough platforms, the franchise is now extending its wings to new hardware!
Activision and Rovio Entertainment have today announced the retail release of Angry Birds Star Wars on next-generation video game consoles. The downloadable puzzle physics title is currently available on iOS and Android devices along with its sequel Angry Birds Star Wars II, and the product will retail on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo WiiU, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo 3DS and PC later this week.

The most probable reason for this expansion of platforms is that the impending current-generation versions of this themed Angry Birds edition were noteworthy enough to warrant further upgraded versions. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be the next pieces of hardware to receive the game, each of the two new versions featuring Kinect and touch-pad controls to suit the consoles' respective functionalities and features. The 20 levels added to the 360/PS3 (etc.) retail version will be transferred across here, though there's no news yet on whether further levels will come as a result of the motion functionality.

Angry Birds Star Wars flutters onto Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo WiiU, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo 3DS and PC on November 1st, with the Xbox One version set for release at launch on November 22nd and the PlayStation 4 version at its console's launch on November 29th.
