Will Ferrell, Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd and the rest of the gang return for more comic escapades in two new trailers.
Paramount Pictures have today released a pair of full theatrical trailers for their upcoming comedy film Anchorman: The Legend Continues. The sequel to 2004's cult hit Anchorman, the second movie is set years after its predecessor, its narrative based on Ron Burgundy's return to the limelight on the eve of an international news takeover.
Admittedly, on the basis of these two latest videos (below), you'd be hard pressed to fathom any kind of concrete plot details. Instead, we've got funerals, racist and homophobic remarks, green screens, cruise control, drugs, alcohol and deodorants (fans, you know the drill!) all reduced to a state of parody over the course of five minutes' worth of new footage. Given the tendency of comedy trailers to emphasise the film's best gags, it's too early to pass any judgement on The Legend Continues' potential to match its esteemed predecessor, but the initial evidence here is promising if nothing else.
Anchorman: The Legend Continues swaggers into cinemas worldwide on December 20th, 2013.
