Sherlock Holmes is back- although it's not quite the show you're looking for...
Sky Living have today announced broadcast details for the second season of US detective drama Elementary in the UK. Loosely based on Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes literary franchise, the show takes place in present day New York, its gaze placed upon 2013 incarnations of both Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson.
At first, Season One didn't show much promise, recycling the narrative approach of its UK predecessor Sherlock without any of that programme's gusto or charm. By the end of the run, though, Elementary was very much its own series, the final episodes of the season turning out to be nothing short of captivating viewing. Here's hoping that with both Moriarty and Sebastian Moran (two one-off villains in Holmes lore) dealt with already, the production team still have a few surprises up their sleeves for the weeks ahead.
Elementary returns to Sky Living with its second season on October 22nd.
