DriveClub Delayed

Watch Dogs fell first, now DriveClub has lost its slot in the PlayStation 4 launch line-up...
Sony Computer Entertainment have today announced a delay in the release scheduling of their upcoming racing video game DriveClub. Originally set to be one of the exclusive titles available in the PlayStation 4's launch line-up next month, the product will now ship next year due to unforeseen difficulties in development.

Watch Dogs' setback hasn't done the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 any favours, and DriveClub's own delay isn't helping matters for Sony. It leaves the publishers with just Knack and Killzone: Shadow Fall as their launch exclusives for the PS4, and while those aren't underwhelming releases, at the same time they're hardly the console-sellers which the company might have originally anticipated. Microsoft aren't on the strongest form at this stage either, though, with only Forza Motorsport 5 and Killer Instinct marking their Xbox One exclusives at launch. With that in mind, it's perhaps advisable to stick to current-generation consoles for the remainder of 2013, seeing as the most impressive content of the year is available on both 360 and PS3.

DriveClub will now retail exclusively for PlayStation 4 in Spring 2014.
