Who News: Dark Eyes Seasons Two-Four Announced

The song of the 50th is ending, but for the Eighth Doctor, the story never ends...
Big Finish Productions have today announced the production of three new seasons of their Doctor Who: Dark Eyes audio franchise. Starring Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor and Ruth Bradley as Molly, the first box-set of this series picked up with the Doctor's travels after he lost two of his most faithful companions, only to introduce a new ally into his life and to revive the threat of the Daleks simultaneously.

By confirming that three entirely separate box-sets of Dark Eyes stories will be retailing next year, Big Finish have swiftly secured the future of their 'Classic Doctor' audio ranges beyond the 50th Anniversary year. The question can now arise as to just how much further the Eighth Doctor's voyages through time and space can go before the threat of the Time War is established and a regeneration into either John Hurt or Christopher Eccleston's incarnation of the character is imminent. Perhaps Dark Eyes' second, third and fourth seasons will resolve this issue, or perhaps like the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors before him, McGann's Time Lord will simply continue to reign the cosmos forever more in audio form...

Doctor Who: Dark Eyes Season Two retails in February 2014, Season Three in Autumn 2014 and Season Four in February 2015.
