Ready to return to Rapture? The wait will be shorter than you think!Irrational Games have this week announced the worldwide release date for their upcoming DLC campaign BioShock Infinite: Burial At Sea Episode 1. The first of two digital expansion releases, Episode 1 features a new incarnation of Booker exploring the underwater city of Rapture before its downfall, all the while meeting a mysterious woman named Elizabeth who claims to hold a dangerous secret.
BioShock Infinite remains one of this writer's favourite video games of 2013, its narrative in particular covering bold new ground for the science-fiction genre in spite of its gameplay merely conforming to that of its predecessors. The second 'episode' of Burial At Sea will offer a significant alteration of the status quo, however, as the player takes control of Elizabeth and discovers the truth of the connection between BioShock's Rapture and Infinite's Columbia. And after that? Irrational will likely head to other licenses, although a return to the BioShock saga in the future isn't out of the question given its recent successes.
BioShock Infinite: Burial At Sea Episode 1 retails on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and PC this November 12th.
