Irrational Games and 2K Games have this week unveiled a five-minute gameplay trailer for their upcoming downloadable expansion BioShock Infinite: Burial At Sea. Taking place in the aftermath of Infinite and set in the original BioShock's underwater city of Rapture, this new narrative campaign will be split into two parts, with Part 1 retailing later this year and Part 2 hitting Xbox Live and PlayStation Network next year.
For now, Irrational have shared with players the opening moments of Part 1 (below). There are spoilers ahoy for Infinite's core storyline, something which the developers have anticipated and considered to be only natural, the idea being that most fans returning for this DLC will have already bested the tale of Booker and Elizabeth high in the skies. The set-up here involves a different incarnation of Booker hunting for a missing girl who has been presumed deceased for some time before the narrative begins. An enigmatic, older version of Elizabeth is also on hand to aid in the search, although quite how this meshes with the frankly staggering climax of the original campaign is up to debate. One thing's for sure, this is looking like a worthy successor to the main game and a must-own digital product for followers of the series.
BioShock Infinite: Burial At Sea ships on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network in Winter 2013.
