No faults can be found with this release date- in fact, it's simply surprising how fast John Green's first film adaptation is arriving!
20th Century Fox have today announced the release date of their upcoming romance-drama movie The Fault In Our Stars. A faithful adaptation of John Green's accomplished teen fiction novel of the same name, Fault depicts the lives of two cancer-ridden teenagers who meet by chance at their Support Group and yet find their fates somehow intertwined from the very first moment they set eyes upon each other.
By releasing this unique adaptation in 2014, Fox should ideally avoid the torrential onslaught of blockbusters landing the year after. Nevertheless, Fault will be launching in next year's Summer of Film, which means that it will face off against motion pictures including Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, The Inbetweeners Movie 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, 21 Jump Street 2, How To Train Your Dragon 2, Transformers: Age of Extinction and Godzilla upon its release. Even if such a scenario is preferable to entering the fray against Star Wars Episode VII, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Batman Vs. Superman, Ant-Man, The Fantastic Four and other big hitters in 2015, it still exerts pressure on the production team to deliver all the same...
The Fault In Our Stars calls a group meeting in cinemas worldwide on June 6th, 2014.
