Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag- Freedom Cry Announced

Ubisoft Montreal confirm that a whole new Assassin will be available to play shortly after Black Flag's retail release!
Ubisoft Montreal have this week announced the development of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag- Freedom Cry for release on digital retailers later this year. The first DLC expansion pack for the upcoming open-world pirate adventure, Freedom Cry takes place fifteen years after the events of Edward Kenway's first voyage and casts the player as an entirely new Assassin- Adewale.

As with the return of Assassin's Creed: Liberation protagonist Aveline in exclusive PS3/PS4 missions, Adewale's appearance in the new campaign will not be the first encounter fans have with the character. Indeed, the series' latest hero will in fact be a part of Edward's crew on the Jackdaw, released from slavery and offered the opportunity to gain vengeance on those who took him captive in days gone by. Adewale finds himself shipwrecked when Freedom Cry opens, leaving him to develop and command his own crew in search of redemption and empowerment over the seas. Quite how much appeal the pack will hold for series veterans will no doubt be defined by the reception of Black Flag itself, though.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag docks on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo WiiU and PC on November 1st, and Freedom Cry will retail on PSN and XBLA in Winter 2013.
