The Day of the Doctor is five weeks away- discover more photos of the 50th Anniversary Special.
The BBC have today released a series of new photos from the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special, The Day of the Doctor. Set in the aftermath of the Series Seven finale The Name of the Doctor, the 75-minute blockbuster episode sees the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) and Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) team up with the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) and Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) to face a dark incarnation of the titular hero (John Hurt).
While they're light on plot details, these new images (below) do offer one or two intriguing tidbits on the 50th adventure. For instance, John Hurt's Doctor has a red-tipped sonic screwdriver in his pocket, and his costume appears to be a blend of the Eighth and Ninth Doctors' attire, suggesting that rumours of a Doctor forged in the Time War and somehow lost may not be far off the mark. Steven Moffat has teased that the character's regeneration limit may be broken in Day, and thus you can be sure to expect big surprises when the episode broadcasts in 75 countries simultaneously next month!
Doctor Who returns with its blockbuster 50th Anniversary Special, The Day of the Doctor, this November 23rd on BBC One and in cinemas worldwide.
