Ricky Gervais and Karl Pilkington return in this emotional comedy-drama series later this month!Those of you who managed to watch the pilot episode for Ricky Gervais' new comedy-drama show Derek last Spring will no doubt remember that it proved to be a genuinely entertaining surprise. To see a full season follow in its wake nearly a year later, then, is a welcome realisation, and today Channel 4 have confirmed the airdate on which the first of six episodes will broadcast. Derek focuses on a mentally-stunted staff worker (Gervais) at a nursing home in a documentary-esque format. It sounds like a typical Gervais farce at first, but really this is a lot more than Cemetery Junction than it is Extras, and on that basis alone it deserves your attention. Derek Season One commences broadcasting on Channel 4 on Wednesday January 30th at 10pm.
