Rockstar Games confirm that the latest instalment in their open-world franchise will arrive in September...
Rockstar Games and Take Two Interactive have today announced the official worldwide release date for their new open-world video game Grand Theft Auto V. Set in Los Santos, the latest instalment in this acclaimed franchise focuses on three divided protagonists, each of whom live their own separate lives across the huge city and who work together in missions indicative of GTA IV's 'Three Leaf Clover' heist that promise to turn the entire gameplay experience on its head.
This new release date is a slight delay on what's been originally planned, with Rockstar confirming that they had initially wanted a May 2013 release, yet they say that "GTA V is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require." It's a completely valid justification on the developer's part, and certainly doesn't reek of the same marketing scepticism that surrounded the delays of games like BioShock Infinite, Tomb Raider and Aliens: Colonial Marines into March of this year. I still await this one with incredibly eager anticipation!
Grand Theft Auto V is set for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 17th.
