New Arrow Regular Cast Member Announced

Alex Kingston is Dinah Lance!
The CW have today confirmed a brand new casting for their hit superhero drama Arrow. It has been announced that Alex Kingston will take on the role of Dinah Lance in a series of new episodes later in the first season. Dinah is best-known as the mother of Laurel Lance, a character who we've already had the pleasure of meeting and seeing develop over the course of the run, and who holds a love interest for Oliver Queen that's pretty likely to manifest itself in her turn to the vigilante game as the Black Canary come season's end.

Just what role Kingston's take on the motherly figure will have is unknown, but it has been reported that Dinah returns to Starling City to rekindle her family's love five years on from the mysterious demise of her daughter Sarah. Alex's appearances on the show will mark the third from a notable Doctor Who performer, Silence In The Library's Colin Salmon having played Walter and Torchwood's John Barrowman the elusive Malcolm Merlyn.

Arrow continues on Sky1 on Monday January 28th at 8pm.
