Could SEGA's iconic hedgehog return on PS4 and Xbox 720?Reports are beginning to circulate that a new Sonic The Hedgehog game is on its way to next-generation consoles later this year. Reliable domain GoNintendo are the source of the rumours so far, suggesting that there'll be more than twenty stages (not including boss battles), multiple routes and exits, loads of new playable characters and a refined focus on 3D platforming. Presumably, there'll be a multi-generation crossover release so the 360 and PS3 get in on the action too, but most of all, SEGA will no doubt hope that this instalment doesn't flop as their 2006 next-gen launch title Sonic The Hedgehog did! GoNintendo reports that Sonic 5 will début for Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 this Winter, with a press reveal reportedly set for February.
