Remember how Ubisoft promised us the release of their new third-person stealth shooter Splinter Cell: Blacklist this Spring? Well, it turns out that will no longer be the case, although we have at least had a release day announcement and a brand new trailer for the game today. Blacklist takes place after the events of 2010's hit resurrection Conviction, with Sam Fisher named the head of the Fourth Echelon in the midst of a secret mission assigned to him by the President of the United States, whereby he must assassinate twelve key targets on the terrorist Blacklist by any means necessary- before it's too late...There's already been a lot of debate about whether this particular instalment is veering a bit too much in the action shooter direction towards the likes of Mass Effect and Ghost Recon, but given that it's still Ubisoft developing, I'd recommend we continue to have faith in this promising title. Splinter Cell: Blacklist breaks down the doors of video game stores everywhere on August 20th.
