Play.com Confirms Retail Distribution Climax

The online retailer reveals it's going the way of eBay this Spring.
Worldwide online retailer Play.com has confirmed this week that it will cease distribution of retail products later this year. The shocking decision on the part of Amazon's big internet rival comes as a result of tax loopholes which caused public scandal for the website in the late months of 2012. Instead of being a selling online service, Play.com will now become an indie service more along the lines of eBay, where human sellers are free to market their own products on the site for distribution and sale rather than Play themselves. The transition for Play.com has been announced as occurring this March.
