New The Wolverine Plot Details Surface

Hugh Jackman is back as the world's most ferocious X-Man this Summer...
What with all the hype and furore surrounding X-Men: Days Of Future Past right now, it's easy to forget that we've still got another entry in that franchise a whole year before its Summer 2014 release. The Wolverine is heading to cinemas in just half a year's time, and today 20th Century Fox have celebrated by releasing a few new plot details on the flick.

Here's what producer Hutch Parker has to say: "We pick up Logan after the events of X-Men: The Last Stand in a very isolated state, full of self-loathing. He is sought out by a young Asian woman for reasons he doesn't fully understand, who is asking him to follow her to Japan where he is meant to reconnect with someone from his past. What you'll come to find is that this is someone he spent prison-time with in Nagasaki. And the legacy of that experience- effectively Logan saved him- is that the man is on his deathbed, and is looking to give him a gift, to thank him for the life he's had. But this gift draws Logan into a very complex and very unexpected world within both contemporary Japan and, to some extent, the feudal history of Japan. He's so in isolation, he's so out of his element. It's a much more powerful distillation of his character than you've seen before."

It sounds intriguing to say the very least, and we should expect a trailer for the movie to surface in the next month or so! The Wolverine rips into cinemas everywhere on July 26th.
