OpCapita Confirms GAME Takeover

Apparently the endgame isn't here just yet! A bittersweet conclusion.
Entertainment and hardware retailer chain Comet's parent company OpCapita have confirmed that they are taking over the GAME Group after their file for administration. The filing saw the closure of over 250 GAME stores early last week, and sadly this turn of events will not mean the reopening of those or indeed worse still the reemployment of the thousands of staff left without a job. However, it is at least somewhat reassuring to see that such an influential high-street retailer can still survive in the hardest of times, even if it means mass lay-offs and a generally reduced number of shops across the UK. Perhaps this will be a great chance for the chain to reassess its priorities price-wise, we'll see; but for now I'll offer a congratulations to the GAME Group for their lucky break, and wish them (as well as those unemployed) all the best in the future!
