Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment and NeatherRealm Studios have today announced the development of Mortal Kombat X for release in the not too distant future. The tenth instalment in the acclaim-reaping series of fighting video games will launch exclusively on next-generation consoles and will boast competitors old and new.
Although Lance Sloan teased a new chapter in this beloved cult saga as early at ComicCon 2013, it has taken nearly an additional year for us to hear official details on the matter. Just as you'd hope for such a secretive initial marketing campaign, the waiting has come to a satisfying climax with an announcement trailer depicting a brawl between series veterans Scorpion and Sub-Zero. Check it out for yourselves below- even if (like this writer) you've yet to experience the franchise's unique forms of combat, you may yet find yourselves surprised at the dynamic variety of special moves and fighting styles on offer here!
Mortal Kombat X will take its starting position on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC in 2015.
