Marvel Studios and Netflix have this week announced a new regular cast member for their upcoming TV superhero drama Daredevil. Based within the same Marvel Cinematic Universe that has spawned such accomplished motion pictures as Iron Man and Captain America: The Winter Soldier in years gone by, the series' ongoing narrative will centre on Matt Murdock, an acclaimed lawyer who gained an extraordinary mastery of his senses after being blinded in a childhood accident, and who now fights to defend justice on the streets of Hell's Kitchen.
The image above should showcase a familiar face to fans of either Robot Chicken or Sin City - it's Rosario Dawson, who'll portray an as-of-yet unnamed character in the first season of this grounded superhero project. A key female presence in the life of Daredevil is obviously Elektra (last portrayed by Jennifer Garner in both the mediocre Ben Affleck film and her own weak spin-off flick), but it seems that we'll have to wait until Netflix moves closer to uploading Season One before the identity of Dawson's character is revealed to the world at large. Stay tuned for more details on Daredevil, Guardians of the Galaxy and other major upcoming Marvel productions in the coming weeks here at On-Screen.
Daredevil will swing onto Netflix in Spring 2015.
