Walt Disney Pictures have today announced two further actors set to star in their upcoming science-fiction film Star Wars Episode VII in a supporting capacity. Directed by J.J. Abrams, the long-awaited sequel to 1983's Return of the Jedi is currently filming in Abu Dhabi ahead of its year-spanning shoot at Pinewood Studios here in the UK.
Joining the central cast (which already boasts talent from past Star Wars films, Inside Llewyn Davis, Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings) this week are Gwendoline Christie and Lupita Nyong'o. The former actress is surely best known for her portrayal of the character of Brienne of Tarth in the hit HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones, whereas the latter rose to fame with her performance as the cruelly-mistreated slave Patsey in 12 Years A Slave earlier this year. Their roles are still to-be-confirmed, but we're more than thrilled enough with these two inspired castings for now!
Star Wars Episode VII completes the Kessel Run in twelve parsecs before landing in cinemas worldwide on December 18th, 2015.
