Universal Studios Orlando and Warner Brothers Pictures have this week announced the opening date of the much-vaunted impending expansion to their The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park attraction. Previously confined to Universal Islands of Adventure (a park located adjacent to the central Universal Studios site in Florida), the 'land' will now span both parks, with the new venue based at Studios playing host to a grand recreation of none other than the iconic Diagon Alley.
Whether it's uncanny replicas of classic Rowling creations such as the Ollivander's and Weasley's Wizard Wheezes shops or thrilling roller-coaster rides (here in the form of Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, which depicts an epic underground mine-chart chase based loosely on the opening setpiece of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2) you're looking for from Wizarding World, the Diagon Alley section will boast both in abundance and so much more. Better yet, a stunning working version of the Hogwarts Express will transport you between the makeshift Diagon Alley and the original Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure (the latter of which is definitely still worth a visit), and who knows? Perhaps a few cameos from beloved Potter characters of days gone by await you aboard the esteemed steam train...
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley will open its doors to the world on Tuesday, July 8th.
