New Guardians of the Galaxy UK Theatrical Trailer Released

Source: No More Mutants
What the latest preview of Guardians lacks in 1980s tunes it makes up for in pure adrenaline!
Marvel Studios have today released a UK-exclusive theatrical trailer for their impending science-fiction superhero motion picture Guardians of the Galaxy. Picking up in the aftermath of both Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the film follows four unlikely heroes (played by Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel) drawn together by fate in order to protect the known universe from the threat of the almighty conquer Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) and his scheming master Thanos (Josh Brolin).

Far removed from its predecessors tonally, this third full video preview (below) doesn't feature a classic 1960s rock anthem such as "Hooked on a Feeling" or "Spirit in the Sky", but so as to compensate, Marvel and director James Gunn have jammed an enviable number of action set-pieces and hilarious gags in here instead. We had our reservations about Bradley Cooper's portrayal (in vocal form, at least) of Rocket Raccoon in the initial US theatrical trail, however those can be all but dispelled today, since the Hangover star seems set to own the role in the finished product. Stay tuned to On-Screen in the weeks ahead for more details on Guardians and its potential influence on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Guardians of the Galaxy hooks audiences on a feeling (and refuses to let 'em go) in UK cinemas nationwide this July 31st.
