Skulduggery Pleasant 6 Details Are In

We haven't had a new Skulduggery Pleasant book in some time now, so naturally new details are starting to surface about what the next adventure for our favourite skeleton detective and his accomplice Valkyrie Cain has in store for them. Speaking on his blog, Derek Landy told fans that he has "passed the 110,000 word mark on Book Six and since Mortal Coil was 105,000 words it looks like the new one will be even longer." One thing is for sure- the next instalment in the series will form the conclusion to the second trilogy of SP books, and Landy hopes that the ending will have just as much of an impact on the third and final trilogy as Skulduggery's imprisonment in The Faceless Ones did on Dark Days, Mortal Coil and the upcoming novel: "I'm still going back through [the text], changing things, linking it all together, but ohhh, what a last page. The Faceless Ones ended with the reader shouting 'Oh god no no no NO!' whereas Book Six will end with the reader shouting 'Oh...hell...' very quietly." In his latest post, the author called his latest work "brain-punchingly brilliant", revealing that plot elements will include Necromancers, Darquesse and new enemies the Jitter Sisters. Skulduggery Pleasant 6 will arrive in September.
